CAROLINA:Hurricane Florence reportedly the strongest wind gust in to hit the east coast in 60 years, has left almost a million locals without access to electricity and has claimed seven lives.
According to the local Police, a mother and an infant were killed when a tree fell on their home.
North Carolina, was hit by a 105 mph wind gust, the strongest wind in the city since 1958.
Water flooding the state rose to 10 feet overnight and 150 people stuck in the flooded areas were rescued.
Many areas near the adjacent rivers remain underwater.
Citizens who have access to private boats are volunteering to help and rescue the affected areas.
Resident George Zaytoun, who ignored evacuation warnings and is now trapped inside his home,told local news channel “It’s like a bomb has gone off.”
“Everything around us is underwater,” he said.
310 Rescue operatives and volunteers from other states are now helping the state officials with rescues.
