How Many Pages Should Your Essay Be?

Writing a good quality essay while staying within the word or page count is truly a challenge to many of the students. However, following the page limit is relatively harder than the word limit because it depends on the font size, the line space limit, and the font style that you keep for your essay.

Considering this never-ending confusion, we decided to determine how many pages in an essay usually should contain by restricting to the font style – Times New Roman and the font size 12. The results were quite interesting and discussed below.

100 Words in Pages

Although a 100 words essay seems to be quite small it covers a huge space on a page. If your essay is single-spaced, it’s expected to cover almost 20% of the page and on double-spaced, it will cover 40% of the page.

200 Words in Pages

Of course, a 200 words essay will take more space than a 100 words essay. If your essay is single-spaced, it will cover about half of the page and if it is double spaced, it can be expected that it fills around 90% of the entire page.

2 Pages in Words

While looking for how many words cover how much space, we also considered how many pages would contain how many words in your essay. So, here are our results! A 2-page essay will usually contain 1000 words if it is single-spaced while 500 words if it is double spaced.

300 Words in Pages

A 300 words essay covers even more space than the previously discussed 2 types. If you go for single spacing, your essay will take more than half of one page. If you use double spacing, your essay will cover a whole page and a bit more space from the second page.

3 Pages in Words

A 3-page essay usually contains words ranging from 750 to 1500 words. So, if your essay is single-spaced, you may write around 1500 words and if it is double spaced, you may cover around 750 words in your essay.

500 Words in Pages

Estimating how many pages would be covered in a 500-word essay, we got some interesting results. A 500 words essay is usually expected to cover a whole page if it is single-spaced while it may cover the next entire page if it is double spaced.

5 Pages in Words

A 5-page essay is expected to cover almost 2500 words if it is single-spaced and 1300 words if it is double spaced.

1000 Words in Pages

A 1000 words essay will cover your 2 pages if it is single-spaced while 4 pages if it is double spaced.

10 Pages in Words

Usually, a 10-page essay contains 5000 words if it is single-spaced and 2500 words if it is double spaced. Does this usually relate to senior class students who could assume how many pages should they usually cover in a well-written argumentative essay? Yes, 10 pages!

Conclusion

Based on the font size, font style, and line spacing, your essay size may vary based on the number of pages and words that you cover.
